Toda Buffalo

The Toda tribe, who are herdsmen in the Nilgiris of Tamil Nadu, is the source of the breed’s name. This buffalo breed is significant since it does well in areas with high humidity and rains. It is known for its adaptability to harsh environment and milk yield.

Normally, the calves are fawn at birth, changing to an ash gray color about two months of age. The two most common coat colors of fawn and ash-grey.
